Talking About Self-Care: A 3-Part Virtual Event for Educators

This three part event is an opportunity to reflect, learn and engage with other educators around a topic you may hear about, but may not feel like you have the time or energy for -- ‘self-care.’ One of the best things we can do for our students is to take care of ourselves, so we invite you to join us and dive deeper into conversations about emotional health, equity in education, and exercising compassion, especially during times of extraordinary stress. We will also share techniques and resources you can bring back to your learners.
(ie: managing stress, supporting students, etc)

Let's talk about self-care! Your events at a glance:

This virtual event consists of three live sessions throughout the day on Sunday, January 24. Though we encourage you to join us for the full day, it is not necessary to attend each session to participate.

Sunday, January 24: 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM ET
Opening Session: Keynote & Self-Care Exercise/Activity
Our day together begins with the dynamic speaker Marcellina Melvin, Senior Director of Health and Equity Strategy at The Hackett Center for Mental Health, and star of the film A Trusted Space.

Sunday, January 24: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM ET
Self-Care Virtual Edcamp
Edcamp is an opportunity to learn from the best experts around--your peers. No one else knows what this experience has been like quite like other educators. In this space, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss and share your ideas with educators across the country! Share your tips and strategies for self care and staying motivated, and gain new ideas about fostering compassion for yourself and your students.

Sunday, January 24: 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM ET
Watch Party and Live Discussion: A Trusted Space Movie Viewing
The day will close out with an opportunity to watch and talk together! We’ll view A Trusted Space and get the chance to talk with stars from the film and educators like you.

This event is brought to you by PBS LearningMedia, WNET, All It Takes, Edcamp Community by Digital Promise, and the Global Educators Collective. Looking for more?
